Hello team,

We are expecting market feed using RFA C++ 8.2 api, by configuring itemList parameter (RIC) as CAD=

Is it possible that, if I configure CAD=<XYZ>, where XYZ is short name for contributor, I will get market feed from only XYZ contributor. If my understanding is correct, can I have multiple contributors configured?

Is there any reference for details of contributor full name and short name?

RFA C++ is used to retrieve real-time streaming data from the data feed. Therefore, if the application subscribes to CAD=, it will retrieve all real-time data for CAD=.

I found RICs with contributors for CAD=. For example:

I assume that you are referring to the consumer example in the RFA C++ package. You can specify multiple RICs to the itemList parameter. For example:

\itemList				= "CAD=BARL,CAD=BCHK"

You can use the RIC Search Tool to search for RICs.

is there anyway to filter out feed from specific contributor for e.g. I don't want to receive feed from BARL for CAD.

To verify behavior in development environment we have RMDS simulator(test client), will it support filter in and filter out for RIC?

The RFA C++ API does not support data filtering. This functionality can be implemented within your application by filtering data based on the appropriate field. Please contact the Content Support team to confirm which fields are suitable for filtering.

My query is around both type of filtering from RFA application configuration:

As I understand from your response RFA does not support any type of data filtering be it filtering in or filtering out:

e.g. Filtering in: Receive RIC for given contributor (CAD=<XYZ>)

Filtering out: Do not receive RIC for given contributor.

Example in your previous post: CAD=BARL, does it mean that RFA will receive market feed only from BARL, if RFA application is configured like this?

The RFA C++ API does not support data filtering. It is designed to subscribe to and retrieve real-time streaming data using RICs.

For example, CAD=BARL is a RIC; when RFA subscribes to this RIC, it retrieves the real-time data published for it.

The itemList is not an RFA configuration setting. It is a parameter of the RFA Consumer example that specifies a list of RICs the example will subscribe to in order to receive real-time streaming data.

I tested it and found that the CAD=BARL will provide the prices contributed by Barclays.

However, it is better to contact the content support team to confirm this.

testclient is a tool in the RTDS package used to consume real-time data. Yes, testclient can be used to subscribe to CAD=BARL.
