Reuters Polls retrieval

Question

hi! can one retrieve historical and current Reuters Polls (Economic Indicators, Central Banks, etc), ideally at the contributor level, from LSEG Data Library API, or any other API? I can see there is an old post for Eikon API but I wonder if this can be done with the new API or in any other way. thanks!

This could relate to the economic indicators. Typically, to retrieve data through the LSEG Data Library for Python, you need to know RICs and fields that can provide the required data. Please check this Retrieve Cross Economic Data using Data Library for Python article.

For example, the RIC for RU Central Bank Key Rate is RUCBIR=ECI. You can retrieve the current Reuters Poll value from the OFFC_CODE2 fields.

The Python code looks like this:

ld.get_data(
    universe = 'RUCBIR=ECI',
    fields = 'OFFC_CODE2')

You can also use the ld.get_history method to retrieve historical data.

ld.get_history(
    universe = ['RUCBIR=ECI'])

However, it returns the historical Actual values.

You need to ask for the Excel formula, such as =RDP.Data, that can be used to retrieve the required data. Then, we can help you converting that formula to Python code.

If the Helpdesk can show you how to retrieve it using a formula in Workspace Excel, then the moderators on this forum can help you translate it into get_data method in the Data Library call.
