Number of Analysts for an Index

Hi, I have a question for clarification on the following data point in the Workspace. As shown in the screenshot, the Workspace tells me that the number of analysts covering the Hang Seng index is 17.

How should I understand that number? Is this the number of analysts that directly provide some estimates on the index itself (like index target), or is this more like an aggregated number from analysts that provide estimates on the index constituents?

Any help is welcome!

I ran the following code.

ld.get_data(
    universe = ['0#.HSI'],
    fields = ['TR.NumberOfAnalysts'])

It returns the number of analysts for each RIC in the 0#.HSI.
