What is the difference between using the LSEG Workspace API and using Data Platform or Knowledge direct. Why would I use either? What is the advantage of each?

From what I understand, the workspace-related APIs retrieve data through the Workspace application, which means the applications must run within the same active Workspace environment. In contrast, Data Platform and Knowledge Direct are cloud-hosted services.
