Eikon Data API key not working

I have just installed the LSEG Workspace app for MacOS, and I am trying to connect to the Eikon Data API through Python (3.14). I seem to have a connection error. Initially, the error message said "No proxy address identified". I then followed the trouble shooting instructions (https://developers.lseg.com/en/article-catalog/article/eikon-data-api-python-troubleshooting-refinitiv) but now I get the error message shown in picture. How do I proceed?

Referring to the troubleshooting article you mentioned, have you tried the step in Check Desktop Applications > 3. Verify that Eikon Desktop/Refinitiv Workspace and Data API Proxy service are running properly

It should look like this:

Does your response contain "path":"/api". If not, it could mean that your Eikon variant doesn't support this feature. Therefore, you can't use the Eikon Data API to get the data.

However, I'd recommend you use the newer and strategic python library, https://developers.lseg.com/en/api-catalog/lseg-data-platform/lseg-data-library-for-python instead as Eikon Data API is considered as feature completed, more detail can be found at https://developers.lseg.com/en/article-catalog/article/essential-guide-to-the-data-libraries
