Can RFA be configured to send updates only when the underlying value has changed.

Hi Team,
Our clients use ODC Real SDK(8.2.4.E1 & 8.2.1.L1), which receives market updates via the RFA libraries. Recently, the volume of updates we receive has grown drastically (likely due to increased market volatility).
This high message rate is filling our event queue and causing memory pressure on client machines.

From our observations, we found that:
1) Many of the RFA updates do not contain any actual change in price or value.
2) Only a small subset of messages represent a real market update.
To reduce this message traffic and alleviate the memory issue, we would like to know whether RFA can be configured to send updates only when the underlying value has changed.

Specifically:
1) Is there a flag or setting on the client side that tells RFA to filter out “no change” updates?
2) If such a capability exists, could you provide guidance on how to enable it?
3) If it is not currently supported, could this be treated as a new requirement as it would be really helpful for many users!

The API is designed to retrieve all real‑time data published by the data feed and therefore cannot modify or filter the retrieved data.

The current strategic real-time APIs are the Real-Time SDKs (EMA/ETA). I am not certain whether the product team plans to introduce new features in RFA. However, you can reach out to the API Support team through Contact Premium Support to request an enhancement or submit your feedback to the product team.

If you are using RTDS (ADH/ADS), you may want to check whether it can be configured to support field filtering. Please contact the RTDS Support team directly through LSEG Support for further assistance.

In RFA, you can use the View feature to specify the fields of interest in the request message. The application will then retrieve data only for those specified fields. You can refer to the StarterConsumer_BatchView example in the RFA package.
