ORDER_PRC type changed from Real32 to Real64

Hi Team,

We are currently using RFA C++ versions 8.1, 8.2, and 8.2.5 to consume market data.
In our older RFA package (version 6.3) RDMFieldDictionary, the ORDER_PRC field (FID 3427) is defined as Real32, whereas in RFA 8.1 and later it is defined as Real64.
Could you please let us know in which RFA version this data type change was introduced?
We would like to know in which version it got changed?

Are you referring to the following entry in the RDMFieldDictionary file?

ORDER_PRC  "ORDER PRICE"         3427  NULL        PRICE              17  REAL64           7

RFA 6 is very old and has reached end‑of‑life, so it’s no longer supported.

The current data dictionary files define ORDER_PRC as REAL64 and all supported APIs support this definition. `

You can check the version of the RDMFieldDictionary file in the information displayed at the top of the file. For example:

Thank you for your response.

When the consumer code was originally written, we were using the RFA6 version, where the ORDER_PRC field (FID 3427) was defined as Real32. Accordingly, our application decodes this field using the Real32 type.

With the API upgrade, ORDER_PRC has changed to Real64, which is causing issues in our application when decoding price values that exceed the Real32 range.

Therefore, we would like to know in which API version this change was introduced so we can better understand the timeline and impact.

I can't this information in the current README file in the RFA package. I searched Real32 in that file and found this entry.

rfasl10401; RDMFidDef::getOMMType() method may return incorrect RWF_TYPE for Int32, Uint32, and Real32
    When OMM Consumer application downloads an older version of
    data dictionary from infrastructure,
    RDMFidDef::getOMMType() method may return incorrect
    RWF_TYPE for Int32, Uint32, and Real32. The return value
    may not be found in RDMFidDef::OMMType.  (SR: 1-6925643114)

However, I can't access the RFA 6 package.
