Extraction timing settings for DSS REST API

(1) One of clients would like to snap DSS Intraday data at certain timings by REST API. Between On-demand extraction and Scheduled extraction, can I think that we can set snap timings within DSS REST API by using Scheduled Extraction, but NOT On-demand extraction? I think we should set snap timings by client side (outside of DSS REST API) for On-demand extraction, but please confirm.

(2) Re Timezone settings for scheduled extraction, I am checking below microsoft timezone index for DSS timezone. If we would like to select British Standard Time (not fixed GMT/UTC, but timezone with1 hour difference summer and winter time), shall we select "GMT Standard Time - Greenwich Mean Time: Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London)"?

You are correct. PriceHistoryExtractionRequest can't provide intraday data. Sorry for the confusion.

For on-demand extractions, the client initiates the extraction process by sending a request to the server through the DSS REST API. The request is then added to a processing queue. This is how on-demand extractions operate. On-demand extractions cannot be used to schedule extractions for specific times in the future.

Typically, Snap is used for real-time products, while DSS relies on extractions.

Clients can initiate extraction processes using either scheduled or on-demand extractions. However, there is no guarantee that data will be snapped at the exact extraction start time, as we do not control how the DSS servers process extractions.

To get data at a specified time, it is better to use the report templates that support date and time properties, such as PriceHistoryExtractionRequest.

Let me correct my question as follows: if clients would like to extract the data at certain timing (say extract at 11:00GMT) by using DSS REST API funciton, will it be DSS Scheduled Extraction, correct? I dont think we can not set extraction at 11:00GMT by using DSS On-Demand Extraction (means clients may have to set extraction timing out side of DSS API), but please correct if my understanding is wrong.

If the client would like to start an extraction at a certain time, it is easier to use a scheduled extraction.

If the client would like to get the data at a certain time (such as getting a price at 10:00 am), it is better to use the report templates that support date and time properties, such as PriceHistoryExtractionRequest.

You suggest Price History is a better option for specifying dates and times but Price Histrory stores the data at the End of Day timing defined by LSEG or the source, which doenst match what the client would like to achieve.

For example, daily EoD from Price History for JPY= is as of NY 17:00, but if clients want to extract the data as of10:00JST, they have to use Intraday Pricing template.

By the way, you mentioned using Schedule extraction is easier to start an extraction at a certain time.  What about On demand extraction?  How can we start On-demand extraction at a certain time?
