Internal RIC Contribution via LSEG Data Library for Python

Question

Hi all,

A client of mine is testing the LSEG Data Library for Python. The client works within a banking environment and has both RTDS and ATS in place.

He can successfully:

* Open a Desktop Session
* Retrieve snapshot data
* Retrieve streaming data

However, when attempting to contribute data to an Internal RIC, the contribution call does not return any error but appears to hang indefinitely, as if it is waiting for an acknowledgement from the platform.

As a comparison, contribution to the same Internal RIC using the RtContribute Excel function works correctly.

Could you please clarify:

* Is contribution to Internal RICs supported through the LSEG Data Library for Python?
* Are there any additional permissions, configuration requirements, or session settings required?
* Are there known limitations or differences compared to contribution via Workspace Excel?
* Are there any examples or best practices available for contributing to Internal RICs through the Python Data Library in an RTDS/ATS environment?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

To contribute data through RTDS, you need to use a session that connects directly to RTDS (ADS).

In the lseg-data.config.json file, configure the url and dacs settings under the realtime-distribution-system section. For example:

127.0.0.1 is the IP address of the ADS server, and 15000 is the default TCP port used by ADS for WebSocket connections. Ensure that ADS is configured to support WebSocket connectivity. Set dacs.username to the username required to connect to ADS.

Then, modify the code to open that session.

ld.open_session('platform.deployed')

Set the service name to the ATS service available in ADS. For example:

service = "ATS_SERVICE"

Yes, I followed the EX-2.02.09-Pricing-Contribution.ipynb example and I opened a Workspace Desktop session.

Can you please share details on how can I configure correctly the platform.rtds section of the configuration ?
