How can the client use Refinitiv Data Platform APIs on a physical machine while simultaneously runni

This case is for LCL in Paris

The Workspace user is accessing Refinitiv Data Platform APIs through direct REST API calls. His objective is to access a broad range of data, including real-time, historical, and fundamental content.

The user operates in two separate environments: a physical machine and a Citrix environment. He would like to use the APIs on his physical machine while simultaneously running the Workspace desktop application on the Citrix machine.

If we offer a multi-session capability in WORKSPACE, do you know whether this would address the customer's use case?

If not, are you aware of any other solution that would allow this setup without requiring a second license?

As far as I know, Workspace and LSEG Data Platform (RDP) are different products and may be governed by different data entitlements, usage agreements, or licensing terms. Therefore, clients should not use their Workspace credentials to establish a direct connection to an LSEG Data Platform (RDP) session unless this is explicitly permitted under their subscription and licensing agreements. For clarification on the appropriate access method and licensing requirements, please contact the client's account team or the relevant product support team.

Regarding multiple logins, a Workspace account does not support simultaneous logins. This behaviour is by design. If the same account is used to log in from multiple sessions or devices at the same time, one of the sessions may be disconnected. This restriction also applies to LSEG Data Platform (RDP) sessions that are accessed through a Workspace account.

Allowing multiple simultaneous logins is beyond the scope of this forum. Please contact the Workspace Support team directly to verify whether any exceptions or alternative solutions are available and to discuss the options that may be appropriate for your use case.

Can you please check and advise with the user's ff-up below? Is this something that can be done?

As per Workspace USER: To provide some context on our infrastructure at LCL: Python is deployed on our local machine (within the LCL network), whereas the Workspace desktop application runs in a separate virtual Citrix environment managed by Crédit Agricole. Due to network and security policies, the two environments cannot communicate, and we cannot install Python directly in the Citrix environment.

Here is the Python code I am currently running:

The main issue is that whenever the script initiates the session via the Platform API, it automatically disconnects my active Workspace session in the Citrix environment. As a result, I am unable to have a real-time script running while keeping my Workspace terminal open.

Our goal is to be able to fetch data through the API without interrupting the interactive Workspace session.

Could you please advise on how to achieve this? Specifically:

Is concurrent access / multi-session allowed for API usage alongside the desktop application?

Alternatively, would it be possible to set up a dedicated technical/machine credential for our API scripts so that it does not conflict with my personal user account?
