Issue details
Endpoint: POST https://api.refinitiv.com/auth/oauth2/v1/tokenError
Grant type: password (scope trapi)
Response: 429 {"error":"429","error_description":"Request rate too high."}
Started: around [date, e.g. early September 2026], and it has continued without a break since then
Most recent failure: [date and time with timezone, e.g. 2026-10-05 06:30 UTC+3]
What I have checked
The 429 is returned even on the first request after hours or days with no activity, so it isn't caused by my request rate.
I'm using LSEG's official RDP Python samples (v6), which request a token once and reuse it.
No other application or script that I know of uses these credentials.
My questions
Why does the token endpoint return 429 for my account or App Key on every request?
Is my account, App Key, or IP address blocked or throttled on your side? If it is, could you remove the restriction?
What are the rate limits for the token endpoint, and is there anything I should change in my setup?
I'm happy to provide request timestamps, my public IP address, or anything else that would help. Could you look into this urgently, since I haven't been able to use the service for over a month?
