How to get financials in CODEBOOK

The user is trying to replicate the financial data displayed on the Financials screen in Workspace using CodeCreator (CODECR)/CodeBook.

Using MAR.OQ as an example, the Financials screen displays multiple quarterly observations, such as Feb 2026, Nov 2025, Aug 2025, etc., whereas the current code returns only Feb 2026.

Current syntax:

The requirement is to retrieve all applicable historical quarterly observations, replicating the following Financials screen settings:

Basis: Consolidated
Period: Quarter
Currency: USD
Source Document: Preliminary
Original vs. Restated: Original
Period Definition: Discrete
Date requirement: The displayed date should represent the date on which the financial numbers were released.

Assistance required: Please advise the correct LSEG Data Library/CodeBook syntax and parameters to replicate this Financials screen output for MAR.OQ and retrieve multiple historical quarterly periods rather than only the latest quarter.

Please help get consolidated syntax for the query.

I'd start here: Use the ? Button in Workspace First:
Before writing any code, open the Financials screen in Workspace and click the ? icon next to any data item (if available) - it shows you the exact TR field formula being used to display that number. That's your starting point. Copy it, then adapt it using the patterns below.

Why the current code returns only one quarter:
Two parameters work together

Parameter	Role
Period=FQ0	Anchors which quarter to start from (FQ0 = most recent)
Frq=FQ	Walks back through time in quarterly steps

• Missing Frq → only one snapshot (latest quarter) is returned
• Missing Period → the API doesn't know where to anchor
• Both together → full quarterly time series ✅

The original code had Period=FQ0 baked into the field string but no Frq - that's why only one quarter came back.

Correct Syntax

Note: Using the current lseg.data library - replace with refinitiv.data if on an older environment.
