Add specific WebSocket URL query parameters via EMA

We are using EMA to connect to the HMDS endpoints. From what I see in the EMA configuration, we can only specify the host and port. However, we also need to include the UUID in the WebSocket URL as a query parameter. Do you know if this is supported?

Therefore, the websocket endpoint is in this format.

ws://192.168.42.195:15000/WebSocket

It is used by RTDS and RTO.

I could not find the UUID in the EMA configuration. Moreover, the README file indicates that:

Enterprise Transport API (ETA) is an open source low-level Transport and OMM encoder/decoder API. It is used by the Real-Time Distribution Systems and Real-Time for the optimal distribution of OMM/RWF data and allows applications to achieve the highest performance, highest throughput, and lowest latency. ETA fully supports all OMM constructs and messages.

It doesn't mention HMDS but you can contact the API support team directly via Contact Premium Support to verify this or submit this question to the development team on GitHub.

If I am not wrong, the UUID is the information that the Authentication System (DACS or whatever system) gets and verifies under the hood after it received a DACS username or AuthnToken from the Real-Time Platform. It is not the things that a consumer application needs to send to the Real-Time platform manually.

Please be informed that the EMA and ETA APIs use the https://developers.lseg.com/en/api-catalog/real-time-opnsrc/websocket-api as an underlying transport for the WebSocket connection type to LSEG Real-Time Platform.

According to the WebSocket API specification document (available on GitHub). It supports the DACS username (for RTDS or any Real-Time Provider that connects to DACS) and Authentication Token ( AutnToken for RDP https://api.refinitiv.com:443/auth/oauth2/<version>/token access token for RTO/Wealth connection, cookie, etc. but no UUID) via the WebSocket JSON Login message.

I was not after a specific parameter to set UUID, rather to possibility to include it in the WebSocket URL, as per below:

ws://192.168.42.195:15000/WebSocket?UUID=<user_uuid>

Typically, it requires a host and port. This scenario is unusual.

The WebSocket URL specification is defined by the Real-Time Platform (which means server-side). I strongly suggest you contact the Real-Time APIs support or HMDS team directly.

The usage of the UUID query parameter is confirmed by HMDS, and was used in a different implementation.

However once we've started to use EMA for access to HMDS we bumped into this limitation, we did not find how to configure EMA to also append the UUID in the URL. This addition of UUID is mandatory for some of our system as it was agreed and suggested by HMDS Team.
