How do I integrate mining company stock prices via APIs into a Power BI commodity pricing dashboard

We are developing a commodity pricing dashboard in Power BI, hosted in Fabric, and would like to integrate daily stock prices of various mining companies via API. Could you kindly connect us with a developer who can assist with linking these data feeds to our dashboard?

Hi @ThabangARM,

There are two simple ways to use LSEG data in a Power BI dashboard:

1. Excel + Workspace Add-in (No Coding):

You can fetch data directly in Excel using the Workspace add-in. Please contact your LSEG Account Manager if not available.

Example:

=RDP.Data(A1,"TR.PriceClose")

- Column A: RICs (e.g., AAPL.O)

- Column B: This formula pulls closing price

Then:

- Save the Excel file (preferably in OneDrive/SharePoint)

- Connect Power BI to this Excel file

Dynamic Behavior:

- Excel refreshes data from LSEG

- Power BI scheduled refresh updates the dashboard

2. Python Script with lseg.data API:

You can use a Python script to fetch data using the LSEG Data APIand load it into Power BI.

- Requires setup (Python + environment)

- Used when you need more flexibility

Summary:

- Python → more flexible

Note:
