RWFEnum does not contain "Meaning" value ?

Hello,

While downloading RWFEnum dictionary from an ADS server (ads3.9.1.L1.linux.rrg) through the Websocket API. We observe that despite the different filters (3, 7, 0…), we are not able to get the "Meaning" (human readable) value for the dictionary. For example :

Returns only "VALUE" and "DISPLAY" for each FID. No "MEANING".

It is a known limitation ? It prevents to write applications that needs human readable information from the enums fields.

I checked the RDM Usage Guide and found that the MEANING element in the response is optional, as stated in the guide.

I used a VERBOSE request (Filter: 15), but I still could not see the MEANING element in the response. You may also try setting the Filter to 15 to request the verbose dictionary output and verify whether the MEANING element is returned in your environment.

If not, this could be an enhancement request for the product. Please contact the Data Feed, RTDS, or RTO Product Support team directly through LSEG Support to verify whether this feature is currently supported or can be considered for future enhancement.

Another option is to load the dictionary from local files instead, (RDMFieldDictionary and enumtype.def). I have also provided a Python sample implementation on GitHub.
